The Humanitarian Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Valpaços received, on October 15th, a new VTTU – Urban Tactical Tank Vehicle, acquired under Portugal 2030 with the support of the Municipality of Valpaços.

The new vehicle, intended to enhance the operational response capacity and the safety of the municipality's populations, was presented to the President of the Municipal Chamber, Jorge Mata Pires, who was welcomed by the Association's Directorate and Command. Commander Luís Nogueira detailed the vehicle's capabilities and functionalities.
Equipped with a 16,000-liter water tank and 200 liters of foam agent, along with a firefighting pump with a flow rate of 4,100 liters per minute, the VTTU is prepared to support urban and industrial firefighting, reinforce the supply of other emergency vehicles, and respond to exceptional needs for water supply to the population.
Jorge Mata Pires highlighted the importance of investing in protection and rescue resources, stating that "The reinforcement of resources for the Volunteer Firefighters of Valpaços is an investment in everyone's safety." He emphasized that the new vehicle increases response capacity, improves the operational conditions of the firefighters, and strengthens support for the population.
The Municipality recognizes the essential role played by the Volunteer Firefighters and the importance of modernizing their equipment for a more effective response to fires and other emergencies, considering that "Investing in rescue resources is investing in the protection of lives, the defense of heritage, and the safety of the entire community."
