The expansion, operated by dstelecom, will cover a total of approximately 4,700 households throughout the municipal territory. In this phase, the parish of São Lourenço de Ribapinhão will have access to fiber optics for the first time, with the expansion also reaching Parada de Pinhão, Gouvães do Douro, São Cristóvão do Douro, and Vilarinho de São Romão.
Reinforcement of coverage is also planned for Paços, Souto Maior, and São Martinho de Anta, localities where the network is already available.
The Mayor of Sabrosa, Helena Lapa, highlighted the importance of this expansion for the municipality's development, stating that it "responds to a long-standing aspiration of our population, who have long demanded access to this service, identifying its absence as one of the most pressing and urgent problems to solve".

This initiative represents a significant step in strengthening digital connectivity in Sabrosa, contributing to the reduction of inequalities in digital access. The infrastructure installed by dstelecom will operate on an open, multi-operator network model, allowing consumers to choose between different telecommunications providers and service offers.
