The Municipality of Murça has reinforced its financial support for the rehabilitation of the Porrais Chapel by signing a cooperation program with the Candedo Parish Fabriqueira Commission.

The intervention, considered of relevant municipal interest for the preservation of local heritage, includes fundamental works such as peripheral drainage, waterproofing, pavement replacement, and specific interventions in the sacristy area.
The total estimated cost for the entire project amounts to €229,847.79. With this new agreement, approved in a Council meeting, the municipality is allocating an additional sum of €56,306.54. This amount complements the initial support of €100,000.00 previously decided by the local authority in March 2025.
The document was formalized by Mário Artur Lopes, President of the Murça Municipal Council, and Father Ricardo Machado, Parish Priest and President of the Candedo Parish Fabriqueira Commission.
The execution of the works is being carried out under the technical supervision of the municipal services, ensuring transparency and the correct use of public funds in the realization of this important project for the community of Candedo and Porrais.
