The event, aimed at raising awareness about the importance of palliative care, transformed into a moment of community unity and sharing. The initiative was promoted by UpVida – ATMP (Transmontana Association of Palliative Medicine) and supported by the Municipality of Murça, represented by Vice-President José Santos and Councillor for Health Ana Cristina Martins.
On the occasion, Councillor Ana Cristina Martins highlighted the community's commitment to supporting those most in need, stating that “this walk reflects the commitment of our entire community to support those who need it most, reminding us that caring and being present is a responsibility for all of us.”
The walk's route took participants through various streets of the town and rural paths, connecting the Parish of Murça to the Union of Parishes of Noura and Palheiros, in direct contact with nature and local heritage.
The cultural and artistic aspect marked the event with a performance by young Amélia Relvas on the harp. The Murça Urban Park hosted the presentation of the Rancho Folclórico de Cadaval, which entertained attendees with traditional songs and dances.
The Municipality of Murça expressed its gratitude to Doctor Márcia Souto and all the involved institutions for their dedication and success in organizing this socially valuable initiative.
