The Municipality of Chaves congratulates itself on the results achieved by its three school clusters in the national school equity ranking. The Dr. Júlio Martins Secondary School achieved 1st place nationally, followed by the Dr. António Granjo Secondary School in 5th position, and the Fernão de Magalhães Basic and Secondary School in 10th place. These results are particularly significant for the educational community of Chaves.
The ranking, developed by Observador in partnership with the Nova School of Business and Economics (Nova SBE), distinguishes schools for their capacity to promote successful academic pathways among students covered by School Social Action, taking into account their socioeconomic conditions. The performance of Dr. Júlio Martins Secondary School is highlighted, where 96% of students benefiting from social support completed secondary education within the planned three years, a result significantly higher than the national average for students with similar characteristics.
These results represent a recognition of the daily work developed by the educational communities of the municipality, highlighting the importance of inclusive public education, capable of promoting equal opportunities and contributing to overcoming social inequalities. The Municipality congratulates the leadership of the three clusters, the teachers, the technical and operational assistants, the students, and their families for their commitment and dedication.
