The Chaves Municipal Library hosted yesterday, October 21st, the initiative «Vamos aos Santos», a moment for sharing memories and popular traditions that brought together seniors and children.

The initiative, led by the Casa do Conhecimento de Chaves in partnership with the municipal team of CLDS 5G, was attended by the Councillor of the Municipality, Paula Chaves, and the President of ACISAT, Vítor Pimentel. Seniors from the Lar da Abobeleira and about 50 students from the 3rd and 4th grades of the Escola Básica de Santo Amaro also participated.
As part of the project «Conversas com Memória» (Conversations with Memory), the session provided an interesting intergenerational dialogue, with the sharing of stories and traditions associated with the celebration of "Santos" (Saints' Day), recreating the family evenings of yesteryear and preserving intangible heritage.
The event was enlivened by the offering of roasted chestnuts, a typical flavor of the season, which added a special touch to the gathering.
The project “Conversas com Memória” aims to promote reading animation, creative writing workshops, and the sharing of old stories, legends, rhymes, and songs.
This initiative is supported by the Pessoas 2030 program, through the European Social Fund+, under the Portugal 2030 Program, funded by the European Union.
