The Municipality of Boticas welcomed approximately 15 students and teachers from other countries on Wednesday, October 21st, who have joined the Agrupamento de Escolas Gomes Monteiro this academic year.

The reception took place in the Noble Hall of the Town Hall, where the students were welcomed by the Vice-president of the Municipal Chamber of Boticas, Isabel Torres, and the councilor Paulo Miguel Pereira. They extended a welcome to the students and provided brief information about the municipality and its free-access facilities.
This initiative aims to foster the integration of students coming primarily from Portuguese-speaking African Countries (PALOP), France, England, and Switzerland.
The Municipal Chamber of Boticas implements various educational support policies, including providing activity books and study materials for all school levels in the municipality. The council also covers costs for meals, transportation, and extracurricular activities for children.
These measures aim not only to contribute to academic success but also to ease family budgets and promote greater social inclusion, ensuring equal opportunities for all students, regardless of their nationality.
