Applications are open until 4:30 PM on December 18. Eligible candidates must have resided in the municipality for over five years, be currently enrolled in or intending to enroll in an officially recognized Higher Education course, and demonstrate insufficient economic resources. Applicants must be under 35 years old and not hold any prior Higher Education academic degree.
Regarding academic performance, candidates wishing to enter Higher Education must present a minimum average grade of 14, while currently enrolled students must demonstrate an average grade of 12 or higher.
In return for the financial support, scholarship recipients commit to completing 70 hours of community work in activities or services of the Municipality, preferably related to their field of study.
Through this initiative, the Municipality of Vila Nova de Cerveira aims to strengthen support for young students, ensuring that economic conditions do not hinder the pursuit and completion of higher education. This measure aligns with the Municipal Regulation for the Granting of Scholarships for Higher Education Students and seeks to promote equal opportunities in accessing education and alleviate the financial burden on families.
