The Portuguese classes are free and taught once a week by volunteer teachers in person, running from October 26th to May 29th. The aim is to develop Portuguese language skills, facilitating communication and promoting integration in daily life, in the professional context, and in the community.
To enroll, migrants must consult the schedules, locations, and learning levels on the Municipality's website and fill out the form, attaching documents such as a residence permit, certificate or visa, proof of regularization, or Passport and Social Security Identification Number (NISS). The form and documentation should be sent to gabmigrantes@cm-viana-castelo.pt.
This initiative is part of the local policies for welcoming and integrating migrants, aiming to promote social cohesion and interculturality. The classes are for any migrant resident in the municipality who wishes to learn or improve their Portuguese and get to know Portugal and its culture.
