In the participating school canteens, a total of 7,325 Minhota beef burgers were prepared, accompanied by dry rice and salad, corresponding to 4,418 meals. The initiative aims to value and promote Minhota Beef, a certified product of recognized quality.
Paulo Sousa, Councillor for Education of the Municipality of Ponte de Lima, highlighted the importance of all entities' involvement in promoting this product. "It is fundamental to raise awareness among new generations about the importance of a balanced diet, reinforcing the role of the school and the community in building healthy lifestyles," he stated.
The Minhota Beef Gastronomic Weekend, driven by the Municipality in partnership with APACRA, runs until Sunday at participating restaurants and includes cultural entertainment. On Saturday, the Grupo de Bombos e Fanfarra do Bárrio will perform in the Historic Center, and the Teatro Diogo Bernardes will present the children's show "Quem vai ao Mar". On Sunday, the Grupo de Cultura Musical de Ponte de Lima will parade through the Historic Center.
The "Em Época Baixa, Ponte de Lima em Alta" project also offers special conditions at participating hotels (10% discount on accommodation) and a crème caramel dessert per portion in restaurants on Saturday and Sunday.
