The project, running until July 30, 2028, aims to create differentiated responses to ensure more positive, inclusive, and successful educational pathways. To this end, an interdisciplinary team comprising clinical and educational psychologists, teachers, and trainers is already working in schools, focusing on conflict management, behavior, positive parenting, learning methodologies, and mindfulness.
With a preventive and multidisciplinary approach based on a real diagnosis of the educational context, the program acts early to prevent the worsening of learning difficulties and combat school dropout. The project promotes mediation and information sharing between schools, families, and the community, with interventions adapted for children aged five and over.
Currently, the Agrupamento de Escolas de Ponte da Barca already hosts the "Comunica+" project, focused on developing language and oral expression for children transitioning to the first cycle, and "Explora+", aimed at self-knowledge and emotional self-regulation for first-cycle students.
Soon, the intermunicipal project will expand its intervention to other educational levels with two new actions: "Faz Zoom às Emoções" (Zoom In on Emotions), to support 6th-grade students in emotional management and building healthy relationships, and "Capta a Forma" (Capture the Form), which will use art as a tool for personal expression and development for 3rd-cycle students.
The "Ponte da Barca + Escola" initiative aims to create a more inclusive and attentive school, reinforcing the confidence and developing the capabilities of all children and young people.
