Ponte da Barca transformed into an open-air art creation stage last Saturday, gathering nearly thirty artists of diverse generations and origins to celebrate the territory through drawing and painting.

The initiative “A Barca, em traços e cores” brought to life corners of the town and municipality, inviting the discovery of Ponte da Barca through an artistic lens. Throughout the day, participants explored different locations, capturing landscapes and details that form the territorial identity, using various painting and drawing techniques.
The event stood out for the quality and diversity of the works, as well as the geographical and generational breadth of the participants. Artists of various age groups, from Ponte da Barca, the Minho region, Porto, and Galicia, shared experiences and sensitivities, enriching the gathering.
The result is a collection of high-quality works that demonstrate art's capacity to reveal new perspectives and enhance the unique heritage and landscape of Ponte da Barca. The works will be gathered in a collective exhibition at the Paços do Concelho, with a date to be announced.
Coordinated by Dr. Pedro Ricca, the initiative benefited from his commitment to mobilization, support, and photographic documentation, contributing to the memory of this first edition. The Municipality of Ponte da Barca thanks all artists, collaborators, and Dr. Pedro Ricca for their enthusiasm and dedication.
“A Barca, em traços e cores” marks the beginning of a path the Municipality intends to continue, further establishing Ponte da Barca as a territory of culture, creativity, and encounter.
