The ceremony for the bestowal of the decoration, recognizing a century of dedication, selflessness, and public service to the community, took place this morning at the Belém Palace, attended by representatives of the Command, Directorate, and the Municipal Mayor.
With a remarkable record of commitment to the Coura community, this distinction marks another milestone in the history of the centenarian association.
This year, marked by the inauguration of the new Local Firefighter Training Unit of Alto Minho, based in Paredes de Coura, and the documentary exhibition “Humanitarian Association of Volunteer Firefighters – 100 years of history and dedication to the people of Coura”, the awarding of this title by the President of the Republic, along with nine other corporations from across the country, marks a significant entry in the centenary history of the local firefighters.
The presentation of the book detailing the history of the Paredes de Coura firefighters completes this month's celebrations.
