The Viana do Castelo Municipal Council, through its President Luís Nobre, visited the project for the Expansion of the Wastewater Drainage Network and Rehabilitation of the Water Supply Network in São Romão de Neiva, an investment exceeding 637 thousand euros that is in its final stages.

The work, located in Lugar da Gândara, São Romão de Neiva, involved the expansion of sanitation networks by 2,074 linear meters, serving 70 homes. A wastewater pumping station was also necessary.
The extension of the water supply network in this area will benefit approximately 30 homes, in a project developed by Águas do Alto Minho. The execution project for the Expansion of the Wastewater Drainage Network in S. Romão de Neiva and Subportela was developed under the application for Norte 2030 – Urban Water Cycle in Lowland areas.
The assessment of the most pressing needs for the expansion of sanitation and water supply networks in the parishes of São Romão de Neiva and Subportela, areas with a high density of housing and low permeability soils, led to the development of this project.
In Subportela, the expansion of sanitation networks with 1,195 linear meters will serve 33 homes. The rehabilitation of the water supply network in this area is also planned, which will benefit 12 homes, in a project developed by the entity Águas do Alto Minho.
