The new Student Association of Agrupamento de Escolas de Valdevez (AEV) took office on Thursday, October 8th, for a two-year term. The team is led by Martim Araújo (12th grade) and comprises 28 members from the 3rd cycle and secondary education. Mariana Silva (11th grade) and Constança Oliveira (11th grade) will serve as Vice-Presidents, Maria Faria (10th grade) as President of the General Assembly, and Inês Costa (11th grade) as President of the Fiscal Council.
The Mayor, Olegário Gonçalves, emphasized the importance of youth participation in decision-making, challenging students to contribute to improving the school. The mayor also highlighted the role of young people in the parishes, encouraging them to be actively involved in promoting the territory in collaboration with institutions.
The ceremony was attended by the Director of AEV, Anabela Araújo, the President of the General Council, Olinda Barbosa, the President of the Association of Parents and Guardians, Armando Pereira, the coordinators of the educational establishments, student delegates and sub-delegates, and representatives of the educational community.
