The European project Euro_Foz has launched the portal www.culturaeurocidadefozminho.com, a digital platform that gathers leisure, art, and heritage proposals from both sides of the border. The initiative aims to avoid overlapping programming, ensure balanced geographical distribution, and promote dialogue between Galician and Portuguese culture.
This common agenda is a milestone of the project «0554_EURO_FOZ_MINHO - Euro_Foz: Construindo a Eurocidade da Foz do Minho», co-financed by 75% by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A Spain-Portugal (POCTEP) 2021-2027 program. The portal stems from the commitment of the three municipalities to strengthen cooperation through shared management and effective cultural coordination.
The creation of this agenda is part of Activity 3 (Cultural Eurocity) of the Euro_Foz project, with the objective of coordinating municipal agendas to prevent coinciding major events, promote cross-border mobility of audiences, and ensure balanced distribution of initiatives. The municipalities will jointly plan dates, content, and venues, integrating events from the European project and already established cultural cycles.
The portal culturaeurocidadefozminho.com allows filtering events by categories, dates, and locations, facilitating access to information in both Galician and Portuguese. The project seeks to enhance the visibility of local creators and artists, demonstrating that the border is not a barrier to cultural creation.
With this tool, the Euro_Foz project continues to consolidate the foundations for the future Eurocity of the Minho Estuary, promoting territorial cohesion and the sociocultural enrichment of its communities.
