The Caminha Municipal Council will meet in ordinary session on Wednesday, October 21st, at 3:00 PM, in the Noble Hall of the Paços do Concelho. The agenda includes proposals in the areas of mobility, education, social action, youth, culture, and community support.
Among the highlighted topics are the Operating Rules for the Youth Participatory Budget of Caminha – 1st Edition, the Participation Rules for EMERGE – Caminha International Youth Art Biennial – First Edition 2027, and the Participation Rules for the Biennial in School, the school-focused aspect of EMERGE aimed at the municipality's youth.
The executive will consider a proposal to amend the traffic regulations on Rua de São Roque, in the Union of Freguesias of Caminha and Vilarelho, aiming to adapt circulation to the current needs of the population and local mobility.
Two inter-administrative contracts for the delegation of competences for the organization of special school transport routes will be analyzed, one with the Junta de Freguesia of Riba de Âncora and another with the Junta de Freguesia of Dem, to ensure adequate transport for students from these parishes.
Another proposal concerns the celebration of a protocol with the Social and Parish Center of Âncora for the development of Animation and Family Support Activities (AAAF) during the 2026/2027 school year, and a protocol with the Yehudi Menuhin Portugal Association for the MUS-E project, which uses artistic expression as a tool for social and educational inclusion within the school community.
The meeting also includes the approval of the operating rules for the first edition of the Youth Participatory Budget of Caminha, and the analysis of the participation rules for the first edition of the EMERGE - Caminha International Youth Art Biennial, scheduled for 2027, and the initiative “Bienal na Escola”.
A proposal regarding the exemption from payment for access to the Municipal Pools of Vila Praia de Âncora for kindergarten children from the municipality's Private Institutions of Social Solidarity will be considered.
The agenda also includes requests to extend the operating hours of the establishments Bar Matriz, Carga d'Água, Q'BAR, and Norte Bar. The executive will also ratify the temporary alteration of traffic and parking regulations in the parish of Dem, implemented for the event “Grande Trail da Serra d’Arga”.
