The film "Fosfeno", directed by Miguel Filgueiras and predominantly filmed in Arcos de Valdevez, will have its national premiere at the 13th Porto/Post/Doc – Film & Media Festival, with screenings scheduled for November 21 and 28, 2026.

The first screening is set for November 21, at 7:00 PM, at Batalha Centro de Cinema, Room 1, in Porto. The second will take place on November 28, at 4:00 PM, at TMM Constantino Nery, in Matosinhos.
Filmed in the mountains of the Iberian Northwest, "Fosfeno" follows the Garrano, an autochthonous horse that appears throughout the film, and the human and non-human beings inhabiting this territory. The work proposes a reflection on the relationship between humans and nature, in a narrative that blends the real and the symbolic, exploring the confrontation between the wild, the untamed, and the civilized.
After its world premiere in the Film Forward competition at the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival in Greece, the film has already been shown at several international festivals, including the Trento Film Festival in Italy, FIFEQ in Canada, the Festival Cinemística de Granada in Spain, and the ARKIPEL – Jakarta International Documentary & Experimental Film Festival in Indonesia. In November, it will also be part of the programming for the SiberiaDoc International Film Festival in Russia.
Supported by the Municipality of Arcos de Valdevez, "Fosfeno" highlights the natural and scenic richness of the region's mountains and the importance of the heritage associated with the Garrano. This production contributes to the cultural and identity promotion of Arcos de Valdevez, reinforcing its national and international projection as a filming location.
Miguel Filgueiras makes his feature documentary debut with "Fosfeno". He is also the author of "Alto do Minho" (2012), screened at 18 international festivals, including the Margaret Mead Film Festival in New York, and the documentary essays "Rendufe" and "Black Bombay" (2016), awarded in the United States and Sweden.
