The Administration of the Ports of Sines and the Algarve (APS) and the National Port Authority of the Republic of Peru signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Lisbon, aiming to strengthen port cooperation.

The agreement, signed on November 2nd, aims to promote cooperation between the two entities and identify opportunities to enhance physical and digital connectivity between the Port of Sines and the Peruvian ports of Callao, Paita, Salaverry, and Chancay. The ceremony took place within the framework of the bilateral meeting between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Portugal and Peru, Paulo Rangel and Carlos Espá.
Both parties commit to coordinating and developing cooperation activities in the areas of transport and logistics, cybersecurity, and innovation. The goal is to strengthen the institutional and commercial relationship between Portugal and Peru, positioning the Port of Sines as a privileged gateway for Peruvian products into the European market.
Currently, Sines already offers a regular weekly service to Peru for containerized cargo, with Latin America being a strategic market for the Port of Sines. The signing of the memorandum was carried out by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of APS, Pedro do Ó Ramos.
