The central theme of the European Eco-Data Seminar, which will be held in the auditorium of the Central Services of the Seixal Municipal Council on October 22, between 9:30 AM and 4:45 PM, is "Science, data, art, and environment for the protection of blue ecosystems." The initiative, with free admission, requires prior registration.
Given the severe impacts of urban development and human activities on river basins, estuaries, and coastal areas, the European project Erasmus+ ECO-DATA proposes an innovative transdisciplinary approach. Using the STREAMS model (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, Mathematics, and Sustainability) and project-based and research-based learning, the project aims to empower new generations as community change agents.
This public European seminar is a milestone for scientific and pedagogical debate on environmental literacy. The event aims to demonstrate how the collection of complex environmental data, obtained from satellites and school sensors (ESP32) from the Copernicus program, can be transformed into artistic expressions. The goal is to combat disinformation and inspire civic actions for the conservation of blue ecosystems.
