Each kit contained a portable cup, a toothbrush, and toothpaste. The initiative kicked off on October 8th and continued throughout the month.
The Councilor of the Municipal Council of Santiago do Cacém responsible for health, Teresa Serrão Gonçalves, was present at the launch of the initiative. The project team visited kindergartens to provide explanations to educators and encourage participation.
The project is a partnership between the Municipality of Santiago do Cacém and the Public Health Unit of the Alentejo Coast, integrated into the “Health Promotion and Disease Prevention” initiative. It aims to promote children's oral health by implementing healthy lifestyle routines.
The activity includes toothbrushing in the school environment, a storytelling session in the classroom, and workshops on oral hygiene. To conclude the project, a play performed by the promoting team will be presented.
