The new space, attended by representatives from the Montijo Municipal Council and the Union of Freguesias of Montijo and Afonsoeiro, offers a collection of around 1200 books, with approximately 250 being new acquisitions. The Ministry of Education's investment in these spaces is about 10,000 euros per Library Point, allowing for the purchase of furniture and new books.
The renovation represents an investment in education and the creation of learning opportunities, in a space designed to spark curiosity and a love for reading. Currently, all schools in the group have a school library or a library plan, reinforcing the commitment to education and the democratization of access to reading.
The ceremony featured a lively presentation by students, who recited poems and shared thoughts on reading, in a moment of enthusiasm and creativity. Their contributions highlighted the importance of books and the reading experience as a journey of discovery and imagination.
The new School Library Point is a space for the entire educational community, intended to be vibrant and actively used, contributing to the development of skills and a passion for reading. More than just a place for books, it is an invitation to discovery and the construction of new dreams.
