Alcácer do Sal dressed in pink for a solidarity walk as part of the Pink October campaign, dedicated to raising awareness for breast cancer prevention. The event took place in the Public Garden, starting at 09h, on a route that connected the Public Garden to the Nautical Center and returned to the starting point.
More than a sporting event, the walk represented a gesture of solidarity, hope, and unity. Each step taken was a message of strength for patients, a tribute to those who fought and continue to fight, and a sign of support for families affected by the disease.
The initiative combined physical activity with awareness about the importance of prevention and early diagnosis. Participation was associated with a solidarity donation, which included kits with a T-shirt and insurance, reinforcing each participant's commitment to the cause.
Because every gesture counts, every step matters, and every life deserves hope.
Organized by the Alcácer do Sal Delegation of the Portuguese League Against Cancer – Southern Regional Unit, with the support of local entities, the initiative reinforced the message of Pink October: together, we are stronger in the fight against breast cancer.
