Alcácer do Sal marked World Food Day on October 13th with a program of activities involving children, youth, and seniors in initiatives focused on healthy eating, sharing, and learning.

The day began at the Alcácer do Sal Preschool Education Center, where healthy snack preparation activities took place, guided by the Municipality's nutritionist. Children participated in the 'mini chefs' snack sessions, engaging with healthy foods and discovering the importance of a balanced diet in a practical and fun way.
At the Alcácer do Sal Municipal Market, at 10:30 AM, Botany students from the Senior University prepared a meal live, showcasing the participants' knowledge and experience. The activity continued with a shared lunch with students from the Olival Queimado Basic School, fostering intergenerational connection around the table.
An exhibition of archaeological pieces and books related to food preparation, production, and storage also commenced this Tuesday. The exhibition, which will be on display until October 16th, offers visitors a perspective on the relationship between food, history, and culture.
These initiatives are part of a program promoted by the Municipality of Alcácer do Sal to mark World Food Day, which runs until October 20th. The aim is to reinforce the importance of healthy eating, encourage good habits from childhood, and value the sharing of knowledge and experiences between generations.
The program continues in the coming days with new activities for the younger ones and initiatives at the Municipal Market, extending the celebration to other communities in the municipality.
