The initiative will take place at the Gil Vicente Cultural Center, between 3:00 PM and 5:45 PM. It will feature the participation of the President of the Municipality, Pedro Rosa; the President of Desmor - Rio Maior Sport Centre, Miguel Pacheco, with the panel “More Sport, More Health”; and Professor from the University of Beira Interior, Ana Alves, who will address “Physical exercise in children and young people”. The debate moderation will be handled by Sardoalense native Pedro Timóteo.
Participation is free but requires online registration via the Sports Congress website. The event, running until October 3rd and covering 11 Municipalities in the Médio Tejo region, aims to establish itself as a space for reflection and knowledge sharing on the role of sport in communities.
The 2026 edition will address central themes such as women's sports, artificial intelligence applied to sports, the relationship between sport and society, and sport as a driver of social development. Experts, coaches, leaders, and academics will gather to discuss current challenges and opportunities in sports activities.
