The Lezíria Local Health Unit (ULS Lezíria) held the 2nd Rehabilitation Nursing Meeting in Santarém, dedicated to knowledge sharing and valuing specialized care.

The event, held at the Auditorium of the Santarém District Hospital, centered on the theme “Rehabilitation throughout the life cycle: knowledge, intervention, and autonomy”. The opening session was attended by Fátima Lopes, nursing director of ULS Lezíria, who highlighted the specialty's strategic role in the face of an aging population and the increase in chronic diseases, stating that “Rehabilitation nursing is decisive for health gains”.
Fátima Lopes valued the teams' work and advocated for investment in the specialty, emphasizing the importance of records in demonstrating care outcomes. Elisabete Lopes, president of the ULS Lezíria Rehabilitation Nurses Nucleus, described the meeting as a space for learning and reflection, aiming to share practices and consider future actions.
The program included various presentations on pediatric and adult respiratory rehabilitation, spinal rehabilitation care, fall prevention, and consultations for individuals with fragility fractures, osteopenia, or osteoporosis. Projects for standardizing rehabilitation nursing records in a hospital setting were also presented.
The meeting also featured free communications and poster exhibitions, promoting the exchange of experiences and the dissemination of best practices among professionals in the field.
