The Public Health Unit (USP) of ULS Lezíria organized, on September 21st, a training course titled “Epidemiological Surveillance | Course for Healthcare Professionals of ULS Lezíria”. The event took place at the Auditorium of the Santarém District Hospital and was attended by approximately 40 participants from various professional areas.
The initiative involved the collaboration of specialists in Public Health, Clinical Pathology, Pediatrics, Infectious Diseases, and the Occupational Health and Safety Service. Additionally, representatives from the Regional Health Delegation of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, affiliated with the General Directorate of Health, participated.
Throughout the morning, relevant topics were explored, including the National Epidemiological Surveillance System (SINAVE), Measles, Zoonoses, Legionella, the Laboratory Diagnosis of Notifiable Diseases, Salmonellosis and Typhoid Fever in pediatric age, Sexually Transmitted Infections, and Contact Tracing in Healthcare Professionals.
This training aimed to update knowledge, promote the exchange of experiences, and strengthen coordination among the different professionals and services involved in the detection, notification, investigation, and response to potential public health threats.
Through this training initiative, ULS Lezíria seeks to enhance the skills of its staff and improve preparedness for an effective and timely response to public health challenges.
