The Universidade Aberta, a public institution founded in 1988, is Portugal's sole public distance learning university. It offers education through distance and online learning, providing students with flexibility to balance studies with professional and family life. Its offerings include bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, doctorates, postgraduate courses, and lifelong learning programs.
Through this partnership, the Parish Council intends to encourage more people to explore opportunities to start or resume their studies, obtain higher education, or acquire new skills, regardless of age or professional status.
An information session will soon be held in Ferreira do Zêzere, open to the public, to present available courses, access methods to the Universidade Aberta — including for those over 23 — and short-term training offerings.
With this protocol, the Parish Council reinforces its commitment to education and lifelong qualification, bringing new opportunities to those who live and work in the parish. The date and location of the information session will be announced shortly.
