The 23rd edition of FIMAP will feature exhibitors from various markets, including Spain, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, France, and Taiwan. Areas covered include machinery and equipment for the wood and furniture industry, forestry technology, tools, treatment products, wood processing, and waste valorization.
With an extra day compared to previous editions, the fair will last four days and will include the FIMAP Talks, a series of conferences and debates. Key themes will address the internationalization of the wood and furniture industries, decarbonization, energy efficiency, biomass, timber construction, digitalization, and new obligations arising from the European Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
The situation of the Portuguese forestry sector following storm Kristin will also be among the relevant topics. The damage caused by the meteorological phenomenon, such as fallen trees and accumulated woody material, presented additional challenges to the operators' response capacity and forest management.
The forestry and wood value chain constitutes a significant economic activity in Portugal, ranging from forest exploitation and biomass production to industrial processing and the manufacture of wood, paper, and cork products. FIMAP thus aims to connect the different links in the value chain, promoting technologies, equipment, and solutions for the forestry, wood, and furniture markets.
