The International Festival of Organ and Sacred Music (FIOMS) returns to Gondomar in November, with two free concerts in the main churches of Rio Tinto and São Pedro da Cova, on the 8th and 22nd, respectively.

The Municipality of Gondomar once again associates itself with this initiative, which combines music, heritage, and artistic creation.
The first concert, “A Voz e o Órgão” (The Voice and the Organ), takes place on November 8th, at 4:30 PM, at the Igreja Matriz de Rio Tinto. It will feature soprano Daniela Rego and organist Samuel Pinto, in a proposal that explores the dialogue between voice and the organ's sonority.
On November 22nd, also at 4:30 PM, the Igreja Matriz de São Pedro da Cova hosts “A Arquitetura da Fé: Bach em Voz e Órgão” (The Architecture of Faith: Bach in Voice and Organ). The program is dedicated to the work of Johann Sebastian Bach and brings together soloists Dimitra Tripi (soprano), Oriana Padrón (mezzo-soprano), Marcos Rosa (tenor), and Carlos Marrero (baritone), accompanied by organist Beatriz David.
For the President of the Gondomar Municipal Council, Luís Filipe Araújo, the Municipality's participation in FIOMS is an opportunity to rediscover spaces of high heritage value and appreciate the richness of organ and sacred music, also highlighting the inter-municipal and international dimension of the festival.
The 6th edition of FIOMS runs until February 7, 2027, and includes around 50 concerts, two conferences, a masterclass, and the National Congress Pueri Cantores 2026. The program extends across ten municipalities in the North of Portugal, including Gondomar, Porto, Arouca, Valongo, Espinho, Felgueiras, Amarante, Vila Nova de Gaia, Maia, and Oliveira de Azeméis.
Admission is free for all concerts. The full program can be consulted at www.fioms.pt.
