The Porto Terra Firme Program received the Gold Recognition at the 2026 Municipal Excellence Award, in the Civil Protection area. The distinction was presented within the scope of the IV Social City Congress, held on October 1 and 2, in Lagoa and Portimão.
The National Laboratory of Energy and Geology (LNEG) is part of the group of entities invited to collaborate on the Porto Terra Firme Program, applying its knowledge and expertise in geology to this initiative.
As part of this collaboration, the republication of the Geological Map of Porto by LNEG is planned, which will strengthen the geological knowledge of the territory and support civil protection and prevention strategies.
