The official invitation video for AGRM 2027 was presented in Mexico during the 2026 Rede Magalhães General Assembly, organized by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). The event brought together representatives from higher education institutions in engineering, technology, and architecture from Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
The FEUP delegation present at the event, including Director Rui Calçada, Pro-Director for Internationalization Gil Manuel Gonçalves, and Liliana Carvalho, Coordinator of the Academic Recruitment and Cooperation Unit, followed the assembly's proceedings and promoted the upcoming edition of the meeting in Portugal.
The video invites Rede Magalhães members to explore the two hubs of AGRM 2027: Porto and Lisbon. The production presents the 2027 General Assembly as a journey between two cities linked by knowledge, innovation, and international cooperation. The route begins in Porto, where participants will be welcomed at FEUP, and then proceeds to Lisbon, where Técnico will host the second part of the program.
The joint bid by FEUP and the Instituto Superior Técnico reinforces the commitment of these institutions to the internationalization of higher education and the strengthening of academic ties between Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean. AGRM 2027 will be a prime opportunity to deepen partnerships, promote academic mobility, and drive new international cooperation projects.
With the launch of this invitation video, the countdown begins for the Rede Magalhães 2027 General Assembly, which will bring network members to Portugal for a week of meetings, reflection, and building new bridges between people, institutions, and ideas.
Established in 2005, Rede Magalhães brings together engineering, technology, and architecture schools and faculties from both sides of the Atlantic, promoting mobility, knowledge sharing, and collaboration among higher education institutions.
