On October 12th and 13th, the Porto Social Support Center (CAS) hosted a corporate volunteering event as part of the Mission – CARE Volunteering Project. This social responsibility project, created and promoted by CAS Porto, aims to revitalize and transform physical spaces, while also strengthening interpersonal relationships among the senior residents of its Residential Structure for the Elderly (ERPI).
The initiative involved a partnership with the Local Volunteering Network (RLV) of the Porto City Council and the participation of 14 Linde Saúde employees, three members from the RLV team, and residents from CAS Porto's ERPI. The goal was to transform a garden area, including restoring planters, enhancing flowerbeds, and planting aromatic and succulent species.
To carry out this action, CAS Porto performed preliminary cleaning of the space, the Porto Municipality provided the plants, and Linde Saúde contributed paint for the planters, as well as substrate and soil for the flowerbeds.
Beyond transforming the garden, the initiative fostered connections, promoted mutual aid, and facilitated the sharing of knowledge about caring for the earth and plants, creating an intergenerational encounter. CAS Porto expressed gratitude to Linde Saúde and the Porto Municipality for their collaboration.
