The Grand Auditorium of the Abel Salazar Building, at U.Porto, hosted on October 3rd a Chinese music concert, promoted by the Confucius Institute, featuring artists from the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) Music Academy.

With a full house, the show presented different expressions of Chinese musical tradition, combining instrumental and vocal music. The audience could hear emblematic instruments such as the guqin, guzheng, sheng, and xiao. The program was inspired by sections of the Book of Songs (Shijing).
Part of an international tour inspired by the Maritime Silk Road, the concert was a moment of cultural exchange between Portugal and China. Before the performance, a delegation from MUST, led by Zhang Zhiqing, Director of the Faculty of Humanities and Arts, met with ICUP directors José Varejão and Yi Zongyong.
The meeting served to exchange ideas on academic cooperation and explore future collaborations. The performance in Porto concluded the Macau University of Science and Technology Music Academy's visit to Portugal, before the delegation proceeded to Spain.
