The 32nd Gaia International Music Festival (FIMG) concluded last Saturday, October 17th, at the Monastery of Grijó, with a concert that presented emblematic Baroque works to hundreds of spectators.

The performance marked the end of a month dedicated to classical music, which took place in various cultural and heritage sites across the municipality. In the historic and architectural setting of the Monastery of Grijó, the audience attended the performance of Marc-Antoine Charpentier's Te Deum and Georg Friedrich Händel's suites n.º 2 and 3 from Water Music.
The concert featured soloists Liliana Sofia Coelho and Elsa Teixeira (sopranos), Patrícia Quinta (mezzo-soprano), Francisco Reis (tenor), and Rui Silva (baritone). The performance was accompanied by the Coro da Fundação Conservatório Regional de Gaia and the Filarmonia de Gaia, conducted by maestro David Lloyd.
Between September 19th and October 17th, the FIMG presented a diverse program in emblematic venues across Gaia, blending different musical languages. Highlights included a piano recital by Pedro Burmester, a performance by the Quarteto do Porto, a cello recital by Christophe Coin, a concert by Trio António Capela dedicated to contemporary Portuguese music, and the piano and electronics creation Soundscape Mirage.
Organized by the Associação Filarmonia de Gaia, with the support of the Câmara Municipal de Gaia, the festival has once again established itself as a cultural reference, aiming to bring the community closer to classical music, value local heritage, and provide contact with internationally and nationally recognized performers.
