The Union of Freguesias of Santa Cruz do Douro and São Tomé de Covelas hosted, last Saturday, September 26th, another session of the Baião + Próximo program. The event saw the participation of over 40 residents, who presented various issues and individual situations.
The President of the Municipal Council of Baião, Ana Raquel Azevedo, was present accompanied by the President of the Union of Freguesias, António Fonseca. The morning was marked by a strong turnout and a diversity of topics discussed, covering specific matters of both parishes and individual citizen concerns.
The consultations were conducted individually, following the order of arrival. This format allowed municipal services to listen attentively to each resident, provide clarifications, and gather information on situations requiring analysis and subsequent follow-up.
Due to the high participation, the consultations extended beyond the scheduled time. Ana Raquel Azevedo remained on-site until all attendees were seen, demonstrating the council's commitment to the population's needs.
The objective of Baião + Próximo is to strengthen the connection between the Municipal Executive and citizens, bringing services to different localities within the municipality. The initiative creates a space for direct dialogue where residents can voice their concerns and highlight issues within their area.
The next session is scheduled for Saturday, October 3rd, at the Freguesia of Loivos do Monte. The format of attending by order of arrival, without prior appointment, will be maintained.
Additionally, the Municipal Council President, Councillors, and the Municipal Ombudsman are available for consultations at the Baião Municipal Council on Wednesdays. These consultations at the council require prior appointment by calling 255 540 500.
