The new multifunctional recreation and leisure space, located next to the Florestal Park and the Municipal Pools of Amarante, will allow for the creation of new green areas, a children's playground, a picnic area, and multifunctional spaces. These latter will be capable of hosting cultural, recreational activities, and events, as well as parking support zones, reinforcing the connection to the park and pools.
The intervention aims to establish a reference public and collective space, predominantly green and dedicated to leisure, recreation, and contact with nature. The project will be complemented by a support area for car and bus access and parking, with a capacity for 44 and 11 places, respectively. These conditions are intended to accommodate both the local population and tourist excursions and organized groups visiting Amarante, ensuring compatibility with the park's landscape and environmental quality.
The tender will pay particular attention to the recovery of existing natural and heritage elements, notably the watercourse and existing tanks, which are considered structuring elements of the landscape. Permeable pavements and nature-based solutions will be favored, promoting natural water infiltration and retention, thus contributing to the space's greater adaptation to climate change.
