The Municipality of Sousel has enhanced safety and emergency response conditions by installing an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) at the Sousel School Center, a facility used daily by hundreds of people.

The Municipality of Sousel continues to invest in the safety and emergency response capabilities of its municipal facilities by providing Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and training staff for their use. The Sousel School Center is now the latest location to be equipped with this vital emergency device, used daily by children, teachers, operational assistants, and the wider educational community.
This measure complements the investment made by the Municipality in 2022, which saw the installation of an AED at the Sousel Municipal Sports Complex. At the time, the local authority opted for its acquisition, considering the large number of young people and adults who use the sports facilities daily.
In parallel, the Municipality has been promoting training for staff in Automated External Defibrillation, involving employees from the Sousel School Center and the Sports Service. This training aims to equip them with essential knowledge and skills for rapid and appropriate action in the event of a cardiac arrest.
The provision of these devices, coupled with training in Basic Life Support and Automated External Defibrillation, constitutes a significant preventive measure, enhancing initial emergency response capabilities where timely intervention can be crucial. This initiative aligns with national recommendations for the presence of AEDs in sports venues and educational establishments.
With the installation of the AED at the Sousel School Center, the Municipality reaffirms its commitment to promoting community safety and well-being, protecting the population, and continuously improving the conditions for using municipal facilities.
