Several actions are taking place in the Autonomous Region of Madeira to mark Mental Health Day, including a seminar, a scientific meeting, and the illumination of emblematic buildings in green.

The Working Group for the Promotion of Mental Health is organizing various initiatives to mark Mental Health Day. The first event will be the Regional Mental Health Seminar, starting at 9 AM, bringing together professionals to discuss topics such as ‘Thinking About the Future of Mental Health: From Strategy to Action’ and ‘Caring in Mental Health: Current Challenges and Paths for the Future’.
In the afternoon, the Scientific Meeting for Nurses Specializing in Mental and Psychiatric Health will take place. This meeting will feature two conferences: ‘Freedom, Autonomy, and Protection: The Challenges of the Mental Health Law’ and ‘Mental Health Nursing: From Present to Future - What Care, What Competencies, What Responses?’.
Additionally, on October 10th, several buildings in the Region will be illuminated in green as part of the initiative ‘Madeira Illuminated for Mental Health’. The initiative is supported by the Regional Secretariat of Health and Civil Protection, SESARAM, the Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, the Psychopedagogical Rehabilitation Center of Sagrada Familia, the Casa de Saúde Câmara Pestana, the Casa de Saúde São João de Deus, and the municipalities of Funchal, Câmara de Lobos, Ponta do Sol, Santa Cruz, Machico, and Porto Santo, reinforcing the collective commitment to promoting mental health.
