The municipal surcharge tax has been set at 1.5% on the taxable profit of companies with a turnover exceeding 150,000 euros. Companies with a turnover equal to or less than this amount will continue to be exempt, a measure aimed at promoting the sustainability and development of the local business fabric.
The president of the Sintra Municipal Council, Marco Almeida, emphasized that “the maintenance of these taxes reflects the municipality's commitment to rigorous management and taxation close to families and businesses. We want to continue protecting the income of residents and creating favorable conditions for investment and economic development in Sintra”.
Regarding the Personal Income Tax (IRS), the municipality maintains its share at 3.5%, ensuring that part of the tax revenue remains with resident taxpayers in the municipality.
The Municipal Property Tax (IMI) rate remains unchanged at 0.30%, the minimum value allowed by law, reflecting Sintra's commitment to minimizing the tax burden on property owners.
With this decision, the Sintra Municipal Council pursues a balanced fiscal policy, reconciling the municipality's financial sustainability with strengthened support conditions for families and businesses, thus contributing to the attractiveness and competitiveness of the municipality.
