The Sintra Municipal Council has approved the creation of the Family Check, a new financial support that will grant up to 150 euros per student to secondary and vocational education students in the municipality.

The measure, aimed at supporting families in Sintra, will be awarded during the current academic year. The support is intended for students up to 18 years old attending educational institutions in the municipality. Over the next three years, this new support will be extended to the 3rd, 2nd, and 1st cycles of basic education.
According to the President of the Sintra Municipal Council, Marco Almeida, “this measure represents a direct investment in the families and young people of Sintra, reinforcing the municipality's commitment to education, social cohesion, and equal opportunities”.
The creation of this support is part of the municipal strategy to promote academic success, combat exclusion, and value education as an instrument for personal, social, and economic development.
The proposal for the Regulation on the Granting of the Family Check will now be submitted for appraisal by the Municipal Assembly.
