Parques Tejo was part of the jury for Hack the City, an event focused on new solutions for urban mobility, held between September 23rd and 25th at the NOVA Cidade Urban Analytics LAB.

For 48 hours, multidisciplinary teams worked on real urban mobility challenges, using data, technology, Artificial Intelligence, and digital twin concepts to develop prototypes and proposals. Parques Tejo partnered with the initiative, alongside entities such as TML – Transportes Metropolitanos de Lisboa, Carris, Carris Metropolitana, CP, EMEL, Metropolitano de Lisboa, Transtejo Soflusa, Lisboa E-Nova, and municipalities of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area.
The participation of Tiago Martins, IT director at Parques Tejo, on the jury allowed the company to evaluate the developed solutions, contributing its experience in managing mobility, parking, and public space in the municipality of Oeiras.
The event challenged participants to transform real urban mobility problems into feasible solutions, using data analysis and technology. Teams presented prototypes and proof-of-concept, with the three finalist proposals showcased at the conference “Mobility & Digital Twins: Enabling the Data-Driven City of Tomorrow”. The 1st prize went to CityMaxxing and the 2nd to Mobi4all.
The conference brought together experts to discuss the use of data and digital twins in urban decision-making, preparation for climate risks, and the development of mobility solutions with lower emissions.
For Parques Tejo, this participation is part of a strategy to bridge operations, academic knowledge, data, and technological innovation. Direct contact with students, researchers, and programmers allows for observing new approaches and evaluating the potential of digital tools for improving urban planning and management.
This collaboration between companies, municipalities, transport operators, and academia is important at a time when mobility is increasingly supported by information integration and data analysis. Participation in Hack the City reinforces Parques Tejo's commitment to innovative solutions for smarter, integrated, and sustainable mobility.
