The Instituto Superior Técnico, in Lisbon, has extended the application period for the second phase of the Experimenta o Técnico program, aimed at 12th-grade students, until October 13, 2026.

The program, which runs throughout an academic year, aims to immerse secondary school students in the reality of higher education, focusing on engineering, science, and technology. Participants will have the opportunity to attend classes, develop projects, explore laboratories and learning spaces, and interact with faculty, researchers, and other students.
A new feature this year is the financial support provided by the Municipality of Oeiras. This support is for students who reside or study in educational institutions within the municipality of Oeiras and meet the defined criteria. Beneficiaries can be students attending the 12th grade in 2026/2027 at a school in Oeiras, or who completed the 12th grade in the 2025/2026 academic year at a school in the municipality, provided they fall under the A or B tiers of School Social Action (ASE).
The Municipality of Oeiras will co-finance the program participation costs, totaling €2,560 per student. For students in tier A, the co-financing will be 100%, while for those in tier B, it will cover 50% of the amount.
Applications for the Experimenta o Técnico program are submitted directly through the Admissions Portal of the Instituto Superior Técnico. The municipal support will be granted after admission to the program and subsequent validation of eligibility criteria and the relevant ASE tier.
