The Order of Pharmacists (OF) met on October 1st with the leadership of the Association of Pharmacies of Portugal (AFP). The meeting allowed for the presentation of the priorities of both entities and the identification of areas of common interest for future collaboration.
Participating in the meeting from the OF were the dean Helder Mota Filipe, vice-president Dario Bastos Martins, deputy secretary-general Diana Costa, and technical secretary for Professional Affairs Mariana Marques. Representing the AFP were President Marisa Inácio and Head of Regulatory Affairs Carmen Ferreira.
Topics discussed included the professional valorization and differentiation of pharmacists, the implementation of pharmaceutical services, the specialty in Community Pharmacy, and the improvement of access and interoperability of clinical information. Perspectives on ongoing projects and potential areas of collaboration between the OF and AFP were also shared.
The meeting reaffirmed the willingness of both entities to maintain close dialogue and develop joint initiatives, aiming to strengthen the pharmacist's role and advance the care provided to the population.
