The Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (FDUL) hosts the inaugural session of the 3rd edition of the Jorge Miranda Chair (2026/2027) on September 30th, at 11:00 AM, in the FDUL Auditorium. The initiative, structured as an Open Lecture, is accessible to the entire academic community and the general public.
The Chair, taught by Professor Doctor Jorge Miranda, a Retired Professor from FDUL and a prominent figure in Portuguese constitutionalism, has Fundamental Rights as its central theme. This space aims to foster the study, debate, and critical reflection on contemporary Constitutional Law challenges.
Throughout its editions, the Jorge Miranda Chair has established itself as a significant contribution to legal thought. Highlights include a special edition celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Constitution of the Portuguese Republic and the recent publication of the work Cátedra Jorge Miranda, which gathers scientific articles from participating students.
