The Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (FDUL) is organizing the FDUL Conferences from October 6, 7, and 8, 2026, under the theme “Artificial Intelligence in the University: challenges, experiences, and solutions for the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon”. The event aims to foster in-depth reflection on the impact of Artificial Intelligence in the university environment, with a particular focus on the opportunities and challenges this technology presents to the Faculty of Law.
Throughout the three days of the event, faculty members, researchers, students, and other professionals will debate the use of Artificial Intelligence in teaching and learning, the ethical principles and guiding values for its academic application, the challenges for students in developing critical thinking and acquiring knowledge, as well as the ethical issues associated with the use of these technologies.
The Conferences are designed as a space for interdisciplinary debate, aimed at sharing experiences and reflecting on the transformation of legal education, research, and practice in a context of rapid Artificial Intelligence development.
The event is being organized by Prof.ª Doutora Ana Paula Dourado, Prof.ª Doutora Alexandra Leitão, Prof.ª Doutora Isabel Vieira Borges, Prof. Doutor Jorge Silva Santos, and Prof.ª Doutora Rita Gil.
