The Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa (ISEL) and Thales Portugal signed, on October 19, a cooperation protocol to promote the development of joint initiatives in the areas of advanced training, research, and technological innovation.

This agreement represents an important step in strengthening the link between academia and the business sector, aiming to identify and develop collaboration opportunities aligned with technological challenges and industry qualification needs.
Among the priority areas for short-term exploration is advanced training, particularly the development of non-academic doctorates. This modality seeks to bring scientific research closer to the concrete challenges of companies, fostering knowledge and technology transfer and the training of highly qualified human resources.
Another focus area is the Postgraduate Course in Advanced Technologies for Drones, promoted by ISEL. This training could equip professionals with specialized skills in a rapidly evolving technological domain, with applications in various industrial sectors.
The cooperation may also encompass other joint initiatives in training, research, and technological development, leveraging ISEL's engineering competencies and Thales Portugal's technological and industrial experience.
With the signing of this protocol, ISEL consolidates its strategy of approaching businesses and valuing knowledge produced in higher education, through partnerships aimed at professional qualification, innovation, and the development of technological solutions with social and economic impact.
The protocol establishes a collaboration framework for the identification and realization of projects of mutual interest, with special attention to opportunities for advanced training and applied research to be developed in the short term.
