The Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (FDUL) hosted, between October 19th and 22nd, the X Ibero-Afro-American Seminar on Law and Control, focusing on Social Law, Ductile Law, and Consensus.

The event, co-organized by FDUL, the Rui Barbosa Institute, and the European University, was under the academic coordination of Professor Doctor Raimundo Chaves Neto and Counselor Professor Doctor Sebastião Helvécio. This tenth edition of the seminar addressed the theme “Social Law, Ductile Law, and Consensus: the Role of Control Bodies”.
The opening session featured interventions from the Deputy Director of FDUL, Professor Doctor Sónia Reis, Counselor Judge Filipa Urbano Calvão, who delivered the lecture “The Court of Auditors of Portugal and Consensus”, and Counselor Inaldo da Paixão Santos Araújo, President of the Rui Barbosa Institute.
The Deputy Director of FDUL highlighted the initiative's importance for discussing public finance issues, based on the experience of the CPLP Courts of Auditors, and for strengthening synergies between Academia and these control institutions.
