The ceremony was attended by numerous residents of the development in the Poente area of Parque das Nações, the president of the Junta de Freguesia do Parque das Nações (JFPN), Carlos Ardisson, and Ramiro Gonçalves, a resident of the neighborhood and one of the driving forces behind the tribute.
President Carlos Ardisson praised the memory of the founders, recalling that since the founding of the Bairro do Oriente in 1976, several council members had shown sensitivity to the pioneers' urbanization project, of whom only seven are still alive.
