Approximately 100 people gathered at the Marvila Library to participate in the workshop “Strategies for Culture,” promoted by the Lisbon Metropolitan Area (AML), aiming to develop the region's Strategic Plan for Culture.

The event, attended by cultural agents, local officials, technicians, and municipal leaders, is part of the development of the Strategic Plan for Culture of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area. This plan follows up on the commitment made by the 18 municipalities and the AML, formalized in the Letter of Intent for Culture, signed in April 2023.
The working session focused on the plan's five strategic axes: metropolitan governance for culture, innovative action for territorial cohesion, network collaboration for a common good, valorization of the metropolitan material and immaterial culture, and knowledge and visibility of the metropolis's creative ecosystem. Participants were invited to propose joint measures at the metropolitan scale.
The contributions collected will be systematized by the team responsible for the Strategies. The workshop featured recognized cultural professionals, including Sara Brighenti, Mário Linhares, Vítor Belanciano, Catarina Vaz Pinto, and Gonçalo Riscado.
The AML's Strategic Plan for Culture, developed with the support of DINÂMIA’CET-ISCTE, is expected to be completed by the end of this year. The goal is to define a shared vision for the region's cultural development, identifying priorities, cooperation opportunities, and strengthening the articulation between municipalities and cultural agents, valuing culture as a factor of territorial cohesion, social inclusion, economic dynamism, and quality of life.
